چکیده

Small (roughly 116cm 3) \scout" robots with multiple movement capabilities are presented. Scouts contain a complement of sensors (cameras, vibration monitors, etc.) along with transmitters/receivers and microcontrollers for clandestine reconnaissance and other covert tasks. Scouts are teamed with larger \ranger" robots that have greater range, battery life, and computational resources. Together they form a distributed, reconngurable robotic team.

Constant-Time Convexity Problems on Reconfigurable Meshes

The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that the versatility of the reconngurable mesh can be exploited to devise constant-time algorithms for a number of important computational tasks relevant to robotics, computer graphics, image processing, and computer vision. In all our algorithms, we assume that one or two n-vertex (convex) polygons are pretiled, one vertex per processor, onto a recon...

A Reconngurable Image Capture and Image Processing System for Autonomous Robots | a Proposal |

Up until very recently, much research on the topic of autonomous robotics has been concerned with very fundamental and basic tasks such as navigation and collision avoidance. Work is now shifting to focus on having autonomous robots perform tasks which involve action planning, exible responses and, above all, interaction. Such tasks will require robots to acquire and interpret various kinds of ...

A Low Friction Demanding Approach in Gait Planning for Humanoid Robots During 3D Manoeuvres

This paper proposes a gait planning approach to reduce the required friction for a biped robot walking on various surfaces. To this end, a humanoid robot with 18 DOF is considered to develop a dynamics model for studying various 3D manoeuvres. Then, feasible trajectories are developed to alleviate the fluctuations on the upper body to resemble human-like walking. In order to generate feasible w...

Distributed Sensing for Cooperative Robotics

This document presents an ongoing research in distributed sensing for cooperative robotics. The main goal of the research is to develop a sensor architecture that allows each member of a group of cooperating robots to use the sensor data of its teammates in order to improve the execution of its own part of the task. The first situation to be tackled is the localization problem of a group of rob...

Distributed Algorithms for Swarm Robots

A swarm of robots is a collection of tiny identical autonomous robots. The robots perform a given task, e.g., cleaning a big surface, moving a big object, guarding an area etc., in a collaborative framework. The goal of research in swarm robotics is to develop a low cost multi-robot system which will be at least as efficient as one big expensive unit. The field of swarm robotics has been addres...
